Juneathon day six – walking, sheesh, I’ve had better days

Nothing of any significance to report today. I walked to the school to pick up the kids, about 4km. I feel ashamed even logging this as an activity.

It’s been a struggle to try and get anything done. We’ve had a builder around today rebuilding a wall that was damaged (fell over) during the snow this winter. It’s taken four months for the weather to be decent for wall building, apparently.

I’ve had my head down looking at a scheduling database, moved forward slightly – but not as much as I’d hoped. Trying to sort out a website – not as much done as I’d hoped. Had a router and firewall brought around, great, but that’s something for the weekend. Some work that I really don’t fancy doing has started bubbling up and I’ve also had some IPR and licensing issues with some software that I wrote a while back.

It’s been a day of talking cross purposes and misunderstandings. Frustrations and set backs. Missing old friends and long forgotten haunts. Of feeling very low and wishing things could be simpler.

Jude missed the train home, and so was late getting back home on my bike. Plans for getting out earlier in the evening were scotched. In any case, Beavers and Brownies nights are always tricky to work around. It’s not J’s fault. If my foot was better I’d have gone out for a run in the day, I needed some fresh air and something to clear my head.

Realistically, Juneathon ended for me on the 2nd when I wasn’t able to go out and run. I’ve been told as much by the organiser.

My plans for going to the gym have fallen through as well. I’ll have to ring them and cancel the appointment with the personal trainer that I had for 8am tomorrow – booked for 8 when I didn’t realise that the builder came super-early. Hopefully will get out on the bike, my diary looks clear from about 7pm tomorrow. Yay.
