After a good solid very early morning rise (before 5, yikes!) I’d got a day’s work done by 1.30pm today. Good job as well, because I had a lot to do in the afternoon…
Everything went basically to plan – 30 minutes walk to the gym, taking a longer route got me to the lobby of Sporting Edge bang on 2pm. My guess is that exams have started because the building was packed with students, most of whom desperately reading text books and with a look of fear in their eyes.
The gym session went fine. I had a short 1km warm up run followed by about 45 minutes going through the second week of the hypertrophy programme. This time it was two sets of 20 reps, which was very very hard work. The legs are starting to feel it, especially with the squats, but nothing too bad.
Quick shower and then another 20-ish minute walk down to the school to get the kids. I got to the school just in time for the children coming out. Very pleased with the timing there. The Google maps works pretty well sometimes. Then another 20+ minute walk back home.
Lily is now complaining about wanting to walk home by herself. I think that it would be a bit weird if I walked to school only to pick up Joel and for Lily to walk home a different way – just so that we weren’t walking home together and so she feels more grown up. I’m sure that she would be fine walking by herself, but it seems silly to contrive some different routes so she can walk by herself.
So after sorting out dinner (spicy chickpea stew, nom!) I was out again for lindy hop. I bought my Mum some lessons for Christmas and it seemed like a good opportunity for me to do the basic lessons again. So I did the first basic lesson with Mum and then I joined Jude between 8 and 9 for the next level lesson. Hopefully, getting more confident with the basics will help with the general dancing. But another two hours activity has made the afternoon and evening feel like I haven’t stopped. It’s all good, though, and tomorrow will be a bit more laid back – except for work, which I expect to be insane.
Onwards and upwards!
