Day 45: Day off

The training programme has Saturday down as a day off – this is the programme ahead of the Manchester 10k. Good job too, because I’ve waded through the day with a head-cold.

While Jude was out at parkrun, I tried to get a lie-in, which didn’t work. Then tried pottering and getting stuff done, which didn’t work either. Somehow the day slipped by without anything apparently happening, apart from an attempt to wake up by having a nap in the afternoon.

Lily and I went out for a walk at Martin Mere, a quick-ish loop around the wetlands with Lily stopping every couple of minutes with a stitch. Apparently I walk too fast, even with a cold.

And that’s about it. I did get the shopping done, but it just it involved cutting and pasting the shopping list from here into the Waitrose site. Probably the quickest shop for months.

There’s more for me to do tomorrow. There’s planning: the work, exercise, food and something with the kids while it’s half term. Plus church parade with the Scouts and I need to release some software. Oh, and a run and a walk. Some of which I could have done today if I hadn’t been quite so muggy. Fingers crossed, it’ll be better after a good sleep.
